ERM is seeking a motivated and well-rounded Social Senior Performance Consultant to join our team in Lima, Peru. The daily responsibilities will include project management, undertaking social and human rights impact assessments, resettlement planning, return of social investments and development and implementation of management and monitoring activities, report preparation (in Spanish and English), and support in proposal writing and client business development as well as team development. RESPONSIBILITIES: This role entails developing ERM’s social impact services across a range of sectors and clients in Peru working closely with ERM’s other technical community leaders in Peru and more regionally. You are expected to possess excellent technical capability in social impact assessment (SIA) and various social impact related support services, such as Social Profiling and Surveying, Social Impact Management Planning (SIMP), Stakeholder Engagement Planning and Implementation (SEP), Livelihood and Resettlement Planning, Community Development/Corporate Social Responsibility, Social Impact Valuation and Measurement and Sustainability Reporting. The candidate will need to be a thought leader in promoting this technical community amongst various stakeholders in Peru and more regionally (project developers and government agencies etc.) via participation in seminars, conferences and clients events as well as connecting with other social performance experts across ERM. Work with ERM’s business development teams and leaders across Latin America to maintain existing client relationships as well as grow new client portfolios in Peru and more broadly resulting in the growth of ERM’s opportunity pipeline. This will require an individual with good communication skills, client/market understanding and proposal development skills. You will also be required to provide guidance in mentoring and building a team of social practitioners within the Mexican Business Unit. This will in turn support the growth of the social performance Latin American team. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Undergraduate degree in Social Sciences, Communications, Anthropology or related At least 8 years of relevant working experience in social performance; Strong understanding of national regulations and laws related to stakeholder consultation, land acquisition and Corporate Social Responsibility; Practical planning, design and implementation of SIA, SEP, resettlement and land acquisition (RAPs and LRAPs) in Peru in the mining, agri-business and/or power sectors; Good working knowledge of international standards such as the Word Banks’ Operational Policies, the IFC’s Performance Standards and the Equator Principles; Developing ESMPs and ESAPs and monitoring and evaluating their implementation; Experience in designing and implementing grievance mechanisms; Experience in livelihood restoration design and program implementation and monitoring; Strong Project Management and communication skills; Flexibility to handle multiple assignments while meeting strict deadlines. A willingness to travel within Peru is essential for short terms assignments - spend time out of the office up to 50% of time Reporting and verbal communication in fluent Spanish and English Desirable skills: Be comfortable working as a team member. Perform favorably in an interdisciplinary environment, interacting and working with professionals from various specialties and cultures. Be organized (in terms of handling documents, data, meetings, etc.). Be responsible and proactive, who seeks to increase the efficiency of tasks.
